Getting To Know The Real Nicki

We asked Nicki some questions about his life as a traveller.

What is your favourite destination and why?

Turkey. It was my first real experience being immersed in a culture nothing like the one I am used to. From the time I stepped foot off the plane and smelled the burning coal, I knew I was in for an adventure. My favourite destination in Turkey is Cappadocia. The landscape is magnificent.

If you could only give one single travel tip that you think would be the most helpful what would it be?

Just go. Traveling will change your life in ways you didn’t even know possible.

What is your favourite travel related quote?

“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”-Oscar Wilde

What was the single most influential thing/moment that drove you to travel blogging?

People kept asking me to show them photos and tell them about my travels. So one day last year I decided it was just time to start a blog.

What advice you would give someone wanting to become a travel blogger?

Don’t do it for the money. Do it because you have a love for sharing the world and your experiences with people. I blog in addition to my full-time career. I do it because I am fiercely passionate about it. It’s a lot of work.

What do you do when/if not travelling?

I have a full time job in finance and I am working on my MBA. So I stay very busy. I also have a husband and a dog who I love to spend time with.
