Ever left something behind and had that sinking feeling when you can’t find it? You’re in good company. Uber has just released the most bizarre items that its absent-minded US clients have left in its vehicles across 2024.
The ninth-annual Uber Lost & Found Index offers a yearly snapshot of the most commonly forgotten and most unique items left behind in Ubers.
Over the last twelve months, the top three spots for most commonly left behind items went to phones, keys, and wallets. The winner of the most forgetful city was New York City, and the most forgetful day was October 26.
“From wayward mannequin heads to live lobsters, Uber riders have left behind some truly unforgettable items this year,” said Camiel Irving, VP of Operations and GM of Mobility US&C at Uber.
“Whether essential or totally unusual, we understand how important it is to be reunited with your lost belongings. The Uber Lost & Found Index celebrates the most unique and commonly forgotten items, while reminding riders that getting support to retrieve their prized possessions is simple through the Uber app.”
The amazing list has been compiled including backseat discoveries such as a Ghostbusters ghost trap, sticky boobs and even 175 hamburgers. Nintendo Switch consoles were a popular item that failed to make it out of the cars while an incredible 1.7 million passengers, more than the entire population of the Maldives, left their phones in an Uber ride throughout the year.
The most 25 ‘unique’ lost items of the 2025 Uber Lost & Found Index included:
1. Mannequin head with human hair

From proof of residency to court summons and even divorce papers, riders keep misplaced legal docs at the worst possible time. Hopefully, they track them down before their lawyer – or the judge – does.
Meanwhile, high-end liquors like Don Julio 1942, Clase Azul, and Grey Goose didn’t make it to their final destinations. Vinyl collectors hit a scratch when their prized records didn’t make it home.
Yet again, red remains the most lost color with over 8,000 red items lost this year. Whether you’re looking for your favorite red cardigan or cherry red lip gloss, maybe start your search in the Uber Lost & Found.
